Take a closer look at this bag and you’ll know its name history. Still clueless? Well, this Celine Mini Clasp Shoulder Bag got its name from the attractive clasp stylishly put on top of it.

For ad campaigns, Celine usually seek help from super models to introduce their newest and juiciest bags. But somehow that all changed, because the Fall 2016 Ad Campaign is a series of selfie pictures of their most beloved bags – meet the fall edition Celine Tie Tote and their newest Belt Bag.

The Celine Tie Tote decorated with spring flowers. And there are vegetables next to it, the same ones you would buy for tonight’s diner at the grocery store. What’s the theme about? But do you see the silver can, I am curious, what are we eating tonight?

Then we see the Celine Tie tote surrounded by fruits – grape, melon and coconut. It’s healthy to eat all of them after the diner.

Anyways, we have seen similar ad campaigns before – Valentino introduce their Fall Winter 2015 Bags on a dinner table with fresh fish and vegetables. Someone has to do the cooking, but it’s not going to be the bag.

Then Christian Louboutin showed their Spring Summer 2016 Ad Campaign in a series of art inspired snap shots – again a bag on the table, with fruits and an empty wine bottle, plus a lot of flowers.

Thanks to the ad campaign, we now know that the Celine Tie Tote is also available in red and brown.

So what do you think about this?

Céline: Christmas 2015 Gift Guide

Other Brands

Yes, it’s November, which also means the countdown to 2016 has started, along with everything great that’s associated with the end of the year, including the New Year countdown, huge epicurean feasts and of course, Christmas!

And with Christmas comes the season of gift giving, be it for your loved ones or for yourself. Or both, which is what I do anyway. First get something nice for everyone that matters, then get something even nicer for yourself for even putting that aforementioned list together, shopping for it and then making sure everything is beautifully wrapped before it is given away. No mean feat if you ask me.

With that comes the first of my gift guides, which you’ll be seeing more and more of as the season nears (PR peeps, if you are reading this, please start sending out your seasonal gift guides). First up? Céline, of course, one of the few designer brands that come in white boxes you can’t go wrong with.

Which brings us to the Céline Classic (SGD5000, shown above), one of the first bags released by Creative Director Phoebe Philo when she joined the French luxury house in 2008. Still loved and much sought after till this day, the one that’s now available in Singapore comes in burgundy box calfskin with gold hardware, a sight for sore eyes, guaranteed to drop the receiver’s jaw and of course, great for upcoming festivities.

For those ranked a tad lower on the gift-giving list but no less important, might I suggest the Céline Trapeze, another stunner of a bag still on many a wish list. Priced at SGD3600, you can pick up this multicolour beauty in Black/Blue/White that’s also part of Céline’s early spring collection.

Last but not least, SLGs (or small leather goods for those of you not attuned into bagspeak). From top to bottom we’ve got a small zipped wallet (SGD680), the long calf pocket wallet (SGD1050), and my favourite, the drummed calf large flap wallet (SGD950), all useful, all appropriately-hued for the season. And because this is just a tiny bit of what’s available now in Singapore, I would advise to you head down personally to Celine boutiques at Marina Bay Sands or Ngee Ann City to shop to your heart’s content. For your loved ones, of course.
